North East Scotland College
A College that Transforms Lives and Supports Regional Development
About Us - North East Scotland College
North East Scotland College was formed in 2013 following the merger of Aberdeen College and Banff and Buchan College. It is one of Scotland’s largest colleges, and is the biggest provider of vocational education training in the North East of Scotland. Across three Aberdeen-based campuses and one in Fraserburgh, as well as several learning centres across Aberdeenshire, NESCol provides high quality full-time and part-time education in a supportive learning environment. NESCol students are offered the opportunity to learn using state-of-the-art facilities and industry standard equipment across subject areas. In addition to maintaining our highly responsive service to our students, we are able to provide a richer offer to employers by working in partnership with industry to ensure we are up-to-date with emerging business needs across all sectors. More courses, more choices, more opportunities!
Disability Confident Employer
Through the Disability Confident campaign, the government is working with employers to remove barriers, increase understanding and ensure that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
As users of the Disability Confident Scheme, NESCOL guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for all vacancies. This is outlined within our Person Specification within the Job Description. During the application process you will be given the opportunity to inform us if you wish to be considered under this scheme and outline any adjustments that we can make to assist you during the application process.
As of October 2016, as a certified Disability Confident Employer we:
- Have undertaken and successfully completed the Disability Confident self-assessment
- Are taking all of the core actions to be a Disability Confident employer
- Are offering at least one activity to get the right people for our business and at least one activity to keep and develop our people.
