The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland seeks a dynamic and inspirational leader and educator to oversee its two Initial Teacher Education programmes: the BEd (Music) and Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Music).
As the national conservatoire of Scotland, the RCS plays a leading role in shaping the future of Scotland’s music education eco-system.
You will be responsible for the strategic direction of the ITE Music programmes and for ensuring their effective and efficient delivery, inspiring the music teachers of the future, and attracting entrants to the profession. You will have recent experience of teaching class music and of leadership in secondary school and/or higher education settings, ideally with some background in research. You should be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

*The current salary for this position is £47,717 per annum, Grade 8 of the Conservatoire Salary Scale. It is normal Conservatoire practice to appoint new staff members to the first point of the salary scale; however, salary may be negotiable for successful candidate.
