Applications are invited for a Postgraduate Marine Scientist to support our marine survey and research and consultancy services. Training will be available in a range of survey techniques, marine mapping and modelling. You will need to be a highly motivated, collaborative team player, communicate effectively with the Marine Spatial Planning Manager, the wider department, and foster excellent relations with stakeholders and partners.

The role will focus on developing our understanding of PMFs habitats in Shetland (and beyond) in relation to marine activities and user, in particular fisheries, through marine surveys including DDV, multi-beam surveys, as well as developing predictive habitat maps. You will be expected to present at meetings, conferences and to the public/stakeholders, and will be an active member of the wider department.
