CELCIS is the Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland. Together with partners, we are working to improve the lives of all looked after children, young people and care leavers in Scotland. By working collaboratively with partners and service users, CELCIS promotes, support and champion sustainable improvements at practice, operational and strategic levels; our stakeholders include children, young people and their families and the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors across health, education and social work/social care that support looked after children. We educate, inform and translate evidence and policy into effective systems and practice across the many organisations whose work affects people’s lives.

We are looking for a pro-active, approachable and collaborative individual who will deliver and co-ordinate specific research activity to advance CELCIS aims and objectives. This will include conducting agreed research and evaluation projects, with an emphasis on demonstrating the organisation’s impact. Job activities will largely focus on the work of the Permanence and Care Team (PaCT), specifically in relation to the efficacy of the Permanence and Care Excellence (PACE) programme. The successful candidate will be energetic and pragmatic and keen to contribute to the CELCIS aim of improving the outcomes of children by supporting evaluation activities in a collective way across the organisation. They will be an independent researcher, knowledgeable about all aspects of research design, who works well with colleagues and can bring out the best in them to achieve credible and effective reflections of the impact of PaCT and across a wider range of CELCIS activities.

This is a fixed term contract and secondments are welcome.

Applicants are required to complete an application form including the name of three referees who will be contacted before interview without further permission, unless you indicate that you would prefer otherwise.
