The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of ICT Support Analyst, based at any of our ICT Workshops: Johnstone, Dundee, Hamilton, Cambuslang, Newbridge or Inverness on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a high quality and customer focused second line support service to all end users in line with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the industry standard ITIL framework. To ensure proper ICT computer and peripheral operation to allow end users to accomplish relevant business tasks to meet the current and future needs of the SFRS business. This includes the installation and support of the Service’s extensive desk to estate and associated peripherals, management of faults and issues with the desktop estate, associated peripherals and business applications. The post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of ICT policies and procedures associated to the ICT Operations Team.

Essential Criteria

• HNC in an ICT related discipline or equivalent experience
• Technically fluent in the installation, configuration and support of Microsoft and Apple desktop operating systems
• Knowledge of networking infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN etc.
• Full, valid UK driving license.

Candidates should have excellent skills in at least 3 of the following: Implementation and support of Windows environments and associated peripherals, Implementation and support of Apple environments and associated peripherals, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, O365, Installation of Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) handsets, Configuration and management of print queues, Asset management, Microsoft System Centre 2012

There is a requirement to participate in an agreed 24/7 on-call rota to provide engineering cover and advice for mobilising and essential infrastructure systems/

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate's will be subject to a Standard Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
