The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Safer Homes Officer based at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Cambuslang, Prevention and Protection.

 

This is a full-time post for 3 years, working 35 hours per week, however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.

 

The Safer Homes Officer will have experience in working with vulnerable adults in local communities and strong knowledge of Adult Support and Protection policy and practice. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise to support the SFRS to deliver its statutory duties in relation to community safety and wellbeing. The post holder will be an integral part of the Safer Homes Team, supporting the development of policy, guidance and training resources using their extensive knowledge of Home Safety and Adult Support and Protection ensuring SFRS is meeting legislative requirements.

 

The post holder will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge of Home Safety along with experience of Adult Support and Protection. Details of essential criteria are captured within the job description.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

 

This post is subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and will be required to carry out regulated work with adults and children.
