We’re searching for a talented Business Support Manager with experience of leading and managing support staff whilst developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.

We employ around 280 experts to help ensure that £40bn of public money is spent wisely – we probably audit your local heath services, your council and the majority of the public sector organisations delivering services across Scotland.

We’re different, modern and have a wonderful open culture. We value simplicity and purpose in our work. Our people have the autonomy and freedom they desire to make a difference in their work. Check us out – we think you’ll love who we are, what we value and our dedication to help ensure Scotland’s public services work well for all of the people that live and work here.

Our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices are both in city centre locations and offer a great environment in which to work, so you can be your very best.

The Business Support Services (BSS) Team

The Business Support Services Team has three main functional areas:

  • Executive Support: our Leadership Group and the Accounts Commission are supported by our professional team of Executive Assistants.
  • Client and Services: our colleagues in this team are responsible for flawless front of house customer service and facilities management.

  • Audit and Business Support: a comprehensive support service to support the wider business including supporting audit work and working groups, arranging travel and accommodation and supporting the smooth delivery of our systems and processes.

Each area of the three main functional areas is managed by a Team Leader.

How can you help us?

You will lead, guide and support your direct reports, inspiring them to develop their own leadership skills and embedding a customer first ethos throughout the team. You’ll drive efficient and effective service delivery by sharing your vision for the customer journey, using customer insight to plan and deliver excellent services.

Working closely with the senior leadership team and Executive you’ll develop relationships with decision makers and business partners to agree business priorities for your team, creating and implementing a robust business plan. You will manage budgets and contracts associated with facilities management and other suppliers of goods and services.

As a key member of the business continuity team you will be instrumental in the delivery of the Business Continuity plan should this be invoked.
