After a recent recommissioning process, funding has been secured to expand the staff team for the current Barnardo's CAPSM (Children Affected by Parental Substance Misuse) service in Fife. The funding will allow us to increase the staff team by a further 4 Project Workers. The name of the service will change to Barnardo's Positive Journey's Service to reflect the move away from the use of stigmatising language and will work in partnership with Clued Up in Fife to deliver direct services to children, young people and their families impacted by substance use and support their recovery journey. Funding has been secured until March 2022 to establish the service, with the strong possibility that this will be extended past this deadline.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join an established team and be an integral part of growing the service, developing new ways of working with children, young people and families and developing new partnerships. Ideally you will have experience of working with children and families with complex needs, and a working knowledge of attachment theories in practice. Experience or a working knowledge of substance misuse and the impact on families would be desirable.
Your work base will be in Kirkcaldy but currently Barnardo's are using a work from anywhere approach which means that you will have the flexibility to work between your home, the office or out in the community with the families you support.
