Project Worker 2 - Perth & Kinross

Barnardo's Perth & Kinross Services is seeking passionate and motivated applicants for a Project Worker 2 post

We are looking for someone to join our Perth services which covers the Perth & Kinross area. We work in partnership with Perth & Kinross Social Work Department and Tayside Council on Alcohol. The post would suit a person who has a genuine interest and experience of working with children and families providing support in a variety of settings including family homes, schools, and community locations.

Within our Space4U service, support includes working with children who have an additional support need/disability and their families. The service also supports children who have been impacted by parental substance use, parental mental health, or domestic abuse.

Within our Hopscotch Service, Barnardo's will work to support children and families who have been or are being affected by parental/carer substance use. We work with young people aged 5-18 years.

Our aim is to support children and families using a whole family approach, focusing on strengths, building on assets and interests to support them to achieve best possible outcomes and to feel included and supported within their communities. We use a relationship-based approach to build trust with the children and their families to develop their capacity and resilience. The service operates as part of a multi-agency approach, working with partner agencies and professional stakeholders, including working as part of a team alongside Tayside Council on Alcohol (partner), building on a collaborative and co-produced approach to finding solutions.

Applicants should be committed, enthusiastic, motivated and have excellent communication skills and able to work in a collaborative manner, evidencing a respectful and inclusive approach. You will be creative, innovative, adaptable and dynamic and able to deliver a person-centred and robust service to children and families. The use of a warm, nurturing and empathetic approach is essential. Applicants should be able to evidence professional curiosity. You will have direct practice experience working with children and families and evidence an awareness of child/adult protection issues. Applicants who have some experience of working with children with additional support needs/disability is preferable.

A flexible approach is essential to providing support when families need it which will include early morning, evenings and weekends.

The positions include effective time management balancing direct support to children and families' needs with the administrative requirements of the posts.

The post is both driving licence essential and the use of a car due to location.
