37.5 hours per week (worked flexibly over 3 shifts)

Are you interested in utilising your leadership experience to provide specialist palliative nursing care to babies, children and young people within our CHAS at Home Service in Scotland’s national children’s hospice service?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior staff nurse to join our existing CHAS at Home team. The team are based in Inverness although work in the families homes providing the highest level of family centered care to support the needs of babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions and their families.

As a registered nurse with experience in paediatrics this is a great time to join our homecare team, not only because the Care Inspectorate reviewed us as an ‘Excellent’ service, but because we are currently expanding our CHAS at Home work to meet an increased need for families with a child who has a life shortening condition. We are looking for a nurse who is motivated, forward thinking and likes to have fun.

Would you like to use your nursing and leadership skills to make a real difference?

Qualified nurse with palliative care experience.

You will provide leadership support and specialist clinical expertise to the multi-disciplinary team, and will undertake a number of line management responsibilities. Providing a high standard of palliative nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, you will support families in making the most of the short time they have together. As well as managing a wide range of complex conditions, you’ll help create precious memories through play, arts and crafts and new experiences; creating an environment where children are truly able to live life to the full. You will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team and have a positive, resilient attitude.

Qualifications and Experience

A registered nurse qualification is desirable and it is essential that you have a minimum of four years’ relevant post-registration experience of working with children with complex nursing and palliative care needs as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Line management/supervisory experience is also highly desirable. A driving licence is essential.
