The Digital Strategy for Scotland sets out priority actions for establishing greater re-use of technology platforms and digital services across the public sector. The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government (alongside COSLA and other local government agencies) has committed to working with Scottish Government to drive this agenda forward within local government.

This unique and exciting role will provide the opportunity to shape this agenda for local government. You will have the responsibility for defining and developing an Enterprise Architecture that can be used to drive greater re-use within the sector, and to contribute to broader Enterprise Architecture for the public sector, in collaboration with Scottish Government and other public bodies.

The successful candidate will

• act as a champion for Enterprise Architecture within local government, exciting stakeholders about the benefits of Enterprise Architecture and greater reuse of technology platforms and digital services.
• own the development and adoption of the local government reference architecture working in collaboration with councils and partners to integrate it with the wider Scottish public sector
• support the technical assurance of national digital programmes that impact local government as a whole (e.g., Digital Health and Care, Digital Planning, etc) conforms with standards and technical design agreed by local government.

Home based with some occasional travel throughout Scotland

Duration of Contract: Permanent
