Transport Planning and Engineering (TP&E) is the specialist engineering consultancy which delivers active travel projects in Scotland as a social enterprise in association with Cycling Scotland.

Our aim is to ensure best practice and inclusive active travel infrastructure is delivered throughout the country, to encourage even more people to walk or cycle as part of their everyday lives.

We plan, design and deliver infrastructure projects with walking and cycling as their focus. We work on behalf of and in partnership with a wide variety of clients, from local authorities to community groups and our focus is on people first when delivering infrastructure requirements.

In these unprecedented times we are seeing a shift in active travel behaviour and so are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Engineer to join our consultancy and make a difference right at the point where the biggest impact is felt: inclusive design for communities and, in particular, for rural areas.

Reporting to the Head of TP&E, the Engineer will have a unique opportunity to design and deliver a wide range of projects from inception to completion in both urban and rural environments. The Engineer will require to have experience in roads design and delivery and use this experience to deliver walking and cycling infrastructure to high standards. The successful candidate will work in a team alongside a range of professionals in TP&E, Cycling Scotland and beyond to help transform how people travel.

TP&E is a social enterprise established in 2006 by Cycling Scotland and we work closely with the charity to deliver its aim of making cycling easy and safe for everyone.

If you are an Engineer looking for a challenge with social and environmental aims, we would love to hear from you.

Please send a completed application form to personnel@tpande.org by noon on 7th December and interviews will be held by Zoom on 9th and 10th December 2020.
