SENIOR HOUSING SUPPORT OFFICER

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to join our small team of Housing Support Officers.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide housing support to the residents as identified on their individual support plans. The aim is to address their housing support needs and work in partnership with health, housing and other related services to prepare the resident to move on to sustain their own accommodation.
You will have experience of working with vulnerable people, including some knowledge of people affected by substance misuse, history of offending and homelessness.
You will also have experience managing and supervising staff to achieve positive outcomes for service users and DSG.
The successful applicant will have:
- SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related field
- SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 9 (willing to work towards)
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of Homelessness and complex needs
- Be enthusiastic, motivated and able to communicate in an empathic way with people who may present with challenging support needs and behaviours
- Have a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable people
- Have good organisational and management skills
- Experience of supervising staff
- Flexible to deliver our services to service users
- Excellent computer skills, data handling electronically and in written form
- Require a PVA Disclosure check and SSSC Registration.
The successful candidate will be required to work 5 day shifts 35 hours per week within the accommodation unit. Some weekend work and On- call on a rota.
