Orkney provides a beautiful setting in which to live and work with a great opportunity to combine a fulfilling and challenging career with the best that the islands can offer in terms of lifestyle. 22,000 people call Orkney home, with most of those living on the largest island. A close-knit, friendly community, where crime is lower than anywhere else in the country and where unrivalled culture and history rub shoulders with cutting-edge modern industry. A great place for family life where the educational system is excellent, we are well equipped with exceptional health, well-being and leisure facilities. Our vibrant and forward-thinking community is regularly voted the happiest and the best place to live in the UK. Our quality of life is second to none, with a rising population, excellent local services, and a multitude of opportunities and facilities to cater for whatever your interests outside of work may be.

Would you like to work in a senior financial leadership role, where you are part of a friendly and dedicated team? Do you have first hand experience of planning, budgeting, accounts preparation and forecasting? If so, we would love to hear from you.

With the retirement of our highly experienced Finance Manager we have a rare opportunity for someone to lead and support our Finance Team to provide high quality financial and reporting support, guidance and information to our Management Committee, colleagues and other stakeholders.

You will ideally be a qualified accountant or have equivalent experience at a senior management level leading a finance team.
