Background

PKAVS is a leading charity in Perth & Kinross, enhancing lives and connecting communities through diverse services in the areas of Carers, Mental Wellbeing, Minority Communities, Third Sector support and Volunteering. Every year PKAVS enhances the lives of over 5,000 local people, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals. PKAVS is also the Third Sector Interface for Perth & Kinross, supporting and developing the Third Sector and enhancing the Sector's role in Community Planning.

The Young Carers Service offers information, advice and support to young people and works in partnership with other agencies to deliver a range of activities that enable children with caring responsibilities to be supported. Integral to this approach is the provision of advocacy services to Young Carers so that their voice may be heard in a number of situations, including attendance at Children's Panels and Court Hearings, case conferences with Social Work and Education & Children's Services.

Role

We are looking for a highly motivated person to work within a small, supportive and dynamic team striving to recognise and enhance the potential of young people. Whilst a relevant qualification is desirable, experience of working with and being able to engage directly with Young People and their families is an essential element of this role.

You will be involved in developing and delivering a range of group sessions/activities to Young Carers between the ages of 5-16 years. You will assist with the planning, preparation and evaluation of the group work programmes.

You must have a flexible approach, working in collaboration with team members, volunteers and external agencies in developing and participating in a range of activities and services delivered during school holidays, in the evenings and on weekends for Young Carers.

Offers will be made subject to satisfactory references, eligibility to work in the UK and membership of the PVG Scheme.

Please find the job description and an application form attached. Please note CVs will not be accepted.
