Temporary post for up to two years

Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for local government in Scotland. Established in 2008, we are an award-winning shared service working in partnership with Scotland’s 32 local authorities and other public sector stakeholders.

At Scotland Excel we are leaders of change. Over the past nine years, we have helped to raise the profile of procurement in local authorities by championing its potential to shape markets, support policy priorities and, ultimately, ensure the sustainable delivery of the services that every community needs.

This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet for our organisation. In 2015, we set out a clear vision in our three year strategy to deliver more and better services for our customers and partners. As a result, we are now entering a period of significant growth that will see us extend our range of services to local authorities and introduce a new procurement programme for social landlords.

As Customer Account Manager you will play a central role in our commitment to placing customers at the heart of our business. As the principal point of contact for local authorities, you will employ your exceptional stakeholder management skills to ensure that they always achieve the maximum benefit from their membership of Scotland Excel.

You will gather and report on customer insights which ensure continuous improvement in our contracts and services, and support colleagues with the delivery of change management programmes and education initiatives to help customers improve their procurement performance. As a key representative of our organisation, you will enhance the profile and reputation of Scotland Excel at a wide range of events.

In return, you will have the opportunity to progress your career in a leading shared service organisation with ambitious growth plans. You will work with friendly, like-minded colleagues who get real satisfaction from supporting the delivery of essential public services and bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to our communities.

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
