We are currently looking to recruit a Supervisor to join our Erskine Street Housing Support Service based in Dundee. This is a full-time permanent post offering 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will need to be fully flexible working on shift including weekends as well as part office based to facilitate best practice within the team.
About the service:
Erskine Street is a Housing Support Service which supports 7 adults, four men and three women within their own tenancies. Two people supported live out with the Erskine Street service in their own homes which are staffed 24 hours per day. The service is primarily purpose built for people with a learning disability and other complex needs.
The needs of the people supported are unique to them but do include; learning disability, sensory impairment, epilepsy, dementia and bi-polar disorder. Most of the people supported have Welfare Guardians appointed either through the local authority or families. We work closely with them and ensure that any change to support or event is reported appropriately.
There is a large staff team in the service and staff are expected to work across the service but are divided into teams for consistency. There is a Registered Manager, Locality Manager and 2 Supervisors on site. The Supervisors work across the service 3 days per week and are office based 2 days per week.
This role could be for you if:
• You have experience with working in large, flexible teams within a social care setting
• You can be flexible- able to work days, evenings, and weekends
• You have experience of supporting culture change in the work environment
• You have strong IT and office organisation skills
• You have excellent knowledge and experience of person-centred practice
• You have the ability to coach and mentor staff
• You can challenge poor or unsafe practice and to champion good practice and person-centred support for the individuals’ using services.
• You have excellent communication skills to relay complex and challenging information
• You hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or other specialty recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes and must be able to meet and maintain the appropriate SSSC registration requirements and conditions for a Supervisor in a Care at Home / Housing Support Service.
