Your new role

You will be part of our dedicated team and join us a Support Worker working within our housing support service which is set within an idyllic location with beautiful surrounds. The building benefits from a spacious communal lounge and kitchen area that can be used for a variety of different activities. There is also an activity room and a very spacious garden. There are currently 4 individuals who each have their own flat within a purpose-built building who each have their own complex needs including, but not limited to, Impaired Vision, Hearing Impairment, Learning disabilities, Challenging behaviour, Epilepsy and Congenital Rubella Syndrome. Given the complexity of needs, each person’s support package is bespoke to their individual needs. Individuals in this service are supported in every element of their lives, with a focus on person-centred care. We have a strong focus on supporting the individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations in their lives. We use a variety of communication methods including British Sign Language and Makaton

What you need succeed

  • Have a natural ability to manage and respond to individual needs
  • Be able to work as a team and work 1-2-1 with key individuals
  • Adapt to changeable situations and respond to residents needs
  • Experience of working within a social care setting or passionate about support work
  • Be able to build/develop positive long last relationship with residents
  • Member of PVG Scheme & SSSC Registration (will be supported by Sense Scotland)
  • Reliable
  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or above/HNC desirable
