Stirling Community Enterprise is a community-based employability, support and training provider that helps people journey back into work.

As the trading arm of Raploch Urban Regeneration Company their services are open to people living in the Stirling Council area who experience barriers to getting a job. It helps people increase their confidence, skills, knowledge and general wellbeing whilst gaining current and relevant work experience through the delivery of in-house and SQA certificated programmes. Alongside Partner Employers they provide a range of supportive work experience opportunities and on the job training.

Operating from the Kildean Business & Enterprise Hub where they take a partnership approach to delivery, the Stirling Community Enterprise is an active partner in Stirling’s Local Employability Partnership. The newly refurbished Boilerhouse (a £700,000 training hub) provides space for organisations to come together for the benefit of those whose need is the most.

The Strategic Plan 2021-26 sets out ambitious five-year strategic goals and identifies a need to ensure that the Group continues to have operational infrastructure capable of meeting both current and future needs.

The organisation is now looking for its next Chief Executive to lead it into a new chapter. The position heads up both organisations and its principal purpose will be to work with the Board to develop and implement the Strategic Plan, in line with their Vision, Mission and Values. You will support the Board in adhering to sound governance and having appropriate reporting and control mechanisms in place. You will be responsible for formulating, implementing and reviewing strategies, policies and financial frameworks, ensuring that short, medium and long-term plans are in place to deliver the requirements of the Business Plan.

As a charity which works in partnership with others, and provides services through contracts and tenders, the CEO will have a strong focus on external facing activities, such as networking, partnership building and representing the organisation at public meetings and events. You will build a strong network of partners in order that provision of services is accessible to clients and opportunities for joint working and continuous improvement of services are identified.

Under your leadership, you will oversee the social enterprise run from within SCE (SCE Contracts). This will need to be shaped and developed to deliver income generating opportunities.

A key aspect of the role will be to be a leader of people and to involve, energise and encourage the whole team to become involved in the future growth of the organisation. The post holder will line manage the Operations Manager in their delivery of the operational targets set in the Strategic Plan.

If you have excellent organisational and people leadership credentials married with experience of leading and growing a for-purpose business, a social enterprise, a charity or a public service of a similar size and scope as SCE, we’d love to hear from you.
