SUPPORT FOR LEARNING ASSISTANT

Kelvinside Academy is an independent, HMC co-educational day school of some 640 pupils aged 3-18 in the west end of Glasgow.

We seek a Support for Learning Practitioner to support pupils across Junior School and Senior School both in classes and in small groups under the direction of Head of Support for Learning. Senior School input would primarily be from SP-S3 supporting specific pupils identified by the department and in consultation with Faculty Heads. All directed pupil support needs would be identified by the Head of Support for Learning in consultation with teachers in both Junior School and Senior School. This role is clearly for pupil support, not classroom assistant support. The Support for Learning Department comprises a team of three staff members.

As a single-site, all-through school emphasis is placed upon achieving a smooth progression from Primary into Secondary. The Senior School Faculties work closely with the Junior School.

The school aims to bring out the best in every pupil, combining high standards of teaching and a superb extra-curricular programme within an inclusive and caring ethos. Sport, outdoor pursuits, music, drama and art flourish, together with a range of clubs and societies. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential.
