Job Description

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking an experienced DPIA Co-ordinator to join the Environment & Infrastructure Services (E&IS) Support Services team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting data protection compliance across a diverse range of services while helping to drive a culture of data safety and continuous improvement.

As DPIA Co-ordinator, you will lead and coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), provide advice and guidance on privacy notices and data sharing agreements, and work closely with colleagues across the Council and external partners to ensure compliance with data protection obligations. You will also maintain oversight of approved digital systems and applications used within the service.

The role includes day-to-day line management responsibility for a small Information Governance team that supports the coordination and response to statutory information requests, including FOI, EIR, Subject Access Requests and records management activities.

We are looking for someone with experience in GDPR compliance, including DPIAs, data sharing and privacy notices, alongside strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 31/12/2027
