Job Description

Based at Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath.

This job is workstyle 3 - Flexi.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user’s locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Angus Heath and Social Care Partnerships Adults with Learning Disabilities service.

You will be part of an integrated team of social workers and health professionals. Your duties will include providing a comprehensive person-centred assessment for people with learning disabilities, to promote their independence, involve them in their local community and achieve their full potential. You will also conduct carers assessments.

You will complete and maintain appropriate records and will manage a caseload, carrying continuous responsibility for the assessment and evaluation of the provision of care.  You will participate in the continuing development of the service.

This is an integrated social work and health team and the ability to promote and encourage a collaborative working approach is essential.

At times our Social Workers will be required to support people within a legal framework; this includes working with the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.   This statutory responsibility allows Social Workers to work in more depth with supported people, build meaningful relationship and support them to make safer choices with positive results.

This is a challenging, exciting and rewarding role which offers the right candidates the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, on the front line of social work, achieving the best outcomes we can for people with learning disabilities within our community.

Please note interviews will be held Monday, 29 April 2024.

Requirements

You must have the ability to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
