“Angus is a great place to live, work and visit”

We provide a wide range of services from home care services to street lighting, and everything in between. We're responsible for leading, developing and supporting the community we serve and for providing key local services and infrastructure for the 110,000 people who live here.

Our 5,000 strong team deliver the services and support that makes this happen, whether they're in visible roles such as teachers or more in the background such as members of our legal and IT teams. We're the region's biggest and most varied employer, operating from our Forfar headquarters and sites and offices throughout Angus.

We value our employees and offer a number of benefits for working with us, this includes:

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are positive about equality, diversity and inclusion and are committed to promoting opportunities for all.  We are proud to be a disability confident, a carer positive and an armed forces friendly employer.  We have our Defence Employers Recognition Scheme Gold Award.  We run regular events, activities and awareness raising initiatives with a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and have policies and procedures which support this.  We welcome applications from all, particularly those from under represented groups.  We offer a guaranteed job interview to the following people who meet the essential criteria on application for a job:  those with disabilities, recognised caring responsibilities and care experienced young people.  This also applies to  our own employees with caring responsibilities, young people on apprenticeships and placements who meet the essential criteria for the job.

Flexible working

We are open to discussions about flexible working with employees.

Where you see the ‘Happy to Talk Flexible Working’ logo on our job advert, we welcome queries and discussions from applicants about flexible working options during the recruitment process.

Agile working

Many of our roles are advertised as being suited to hybrid and homeworking. We support this with the tools and technology to help employees benefit from working in a variety of work locations and at home to suit the work that they do and their personal lives.

This includes making the most of our ongoing digital investments and improvements to work at alternative locations.
