Juniper Green Primary School Nursery

Salary: £24,064 - £26,468 per year (pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 30 hours per week, 40 weeks sessional

Monday to Thursday 8.00-3.315pm, Friday 8.00-12.15pm

Juniper Green Primary School is a co-educational non-denominational primary school. It serves the residents of the Juniper Green, Baberton Mains and Colinton/Hailes areas of Edinburgh, a broad social mix.

The school is a modern building with excellent educational facilities. There are 14 classes and a term time nursery class. The Headteacher and two Depute Headteachers all have a teaching commitment.

The school administrator post is a key part of the office team at Juniper Green. Working alongside the business manager and clerical assistant they will provide support for the senior team, teaching staff and pupils.

The office team are a very important and integral part of the school and ensure the smooth day to day running of the school. It is essential that the successful candidate is a team player and has excellent organisational, interpersonal, I.T. and communication skills.

The job is in a busy office and will involve a wide variety of office tasks including answering calls, photocopying, managing diaries and using systems including Parent pay, Seemis, Parents Booking and Parent Pay. Previous experience of these systems would be advantageous. There will be regular liaison with other agencies including Parent Council, After School Care, Active Schools. The administrator will ensure smooth running of reception, dealing with pupils and parent and staff requests in a sensitive and appropriate manner. The administrator will also have responsibility for looking after the nursery administration and managing nursery and school waiting lists. The administrator will also be involved in organising trips, school camps, parent’s evenings, school events and let bookings.

The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
