We are looking for a well-motivated and organised person to join our Education Support Services Team. This is a Fixed Term position until 1 July 2026 and may be suitable for a secondment. You will work 17.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Your main purpose is to provide efficient and effective clerical support to Education’s Support Services Team. You will also provide pro-active support to schools for all school-based software systems. You will be required to prepare and present reports and minutes, deal with enquiries from colleagues and schools and carry out a wide range of tasks with minimum supervision. Having experience of using various software packages and/or MIS systems, such as SEEMiS & Groupcall would be desirable but are not essential. Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to prioritise your own workload, attention to detail, problem solving and being a good team player are all also essential to this role.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
