Job Description

Based in Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on temporary basis until October 2026. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee area. Funding for this post is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19, or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30, who live within the Dundee City boundary, and who are Not in Employment, Education or Training prior to appointment. Requirements

You will have minimum of 2 Highers, to include English and Maths or Physics, or other equivalent qualifications in related subject matter.

Responsibilities

You will learn and assist with the provision of building services mechanical engineering consultancy service to the Council and its service departments and to external public agencies, as directed by the Architectural Services Manager. You will learn and assist with design, administration and coordination of mechanical services on construction projects from inception to completion. You will learn and assist with representing Architectural Services on construction projects and maintenance services projects emanating from the Division, to ensure compliance with maintenance and design specifications, materials and workmanship standards.

The Individual

You will have the ability to work on own initiative, have effective time management, good administrative and organisational skills and be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. You will have the ability to undertake site visits and surveys including working at height and in confined spaces. ​ You will have the ability to attain HNC in Mechanical Engineering and SVQ Level 3 Built Environment Design over a 3 year period.
