Job Description
Based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for maintaining a large and diverse commercial property portfolio across the City of Dundee. Building Surveying Services is a key support unit for Dundee City Councils operational buildings and comprises over 30 staff members ranging from Surveyors, Fire Risk Assessors, Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, Clerk of Works, Facility Assistants and Property Officers. The Building Surveyor will engage directly with team members, external consultants and other in-house professions assisting coordinate, maintain and report on a property portfolio of over 800 properties.

You will have a Degree/Diploma in Building Surveying RICS approved.Responsibilities
To assist in the provision of a full property maintenance service, including contract procurement, cost/budget control and in ensuring that the Estates Section of the Department implements and manages a full Health & Safety regime, for all properties for which it has a responsibility.The Individual
You will have a knowledge and understanding of dilapidations, condition surveys, contract administration and defect analysis, CDM, client designer, contractors' duties and of Fire Regulations and Asbestos Regulations.
You will have good IT skills.
You will be able to think clearly and logically and have a positive attitude to participative teamwork. You will have analytical/interpretative skills and problem solving approach.
You will have good written and oral communications skills, be creative and imaginative thinker and be able to work out with normal working hours, as the job demands.
