Requirements

You will be accredited to MCIPS or qualified to CIPS Level 6 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Procurement Manager in the development and delivery of an effective Corporate Procurement service for Dundee City Council.

The Individual

You will have experience of operating at a senior level within a public sector/utilities organisation, with supervisory management experience and procurement and contract management experience. A career portfolio indicating an appreciation of the importance of continuous improvement, positive customer relations and experience of working with a range of clients, including some experience of working with senior managers is essential. You will have a solid understanding of all applicable Scottish and UK Public sector procurement legislation, together with an appreciation of the council’s Standing Orders and their application; proven negotiation skills and contract management experience to achieve significant savings. Along with excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to produce and constructively present accurate and complex reports and act as an internal and external ambassador for Corporate Procurement. You will also have the ability to plan, lead and implement change innovation to drive procurement best practice and the ability to manage staff. In addition, you will have the flexibility and the ability to respond to urgent requests, simultaneous demands or shifting priorities and good IT Skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office Applications.
