Job Description

Based at Dundee House, with an element of remote working if desired/necessary, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. You will work in the Development Plans and Regeneration function of the Planning Team which is part of the wider Planning and Economic Development Service in the City Development Department. Requirements

You must have a Degree or equivalent in Town Planning, or a similar relevant subject area and you be a Corporate or Student Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to join the Council’s Development Plans and Regeneration section of the Planning team where you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the Council’s statutory Local Development Plan, non-statutory guidance and the design and delivery of regeneration initiatives and placemaking projects. You will promote the sustainable economic development and the protection of the environment through the delivery of the Council's Planning System.

The Individual

You will have a good working knowledge of Scottish planning legislation and practice with a strong customer focus. You will have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise and reasoned reports, along with good IT skills and experience of appropriate software including MS Office. Experience of development planning and/or delivering regeneration priorities in Scotland would be of benefit. You will be able to work with minimum supervision and under pressure, with experience of successfully working as a member of a team. You will have the commitment to maintain continuous personal development through training and development.
