Requirements

You will have a degree, or equivalent qualification, or be experienced in project planning and Council policy relating to Environmental matters.

Responsibilities

You will lead and co-ordinate Environment capital plan programming in tandem with supporting the development of the Environment Asset Management plan. You will lead and co-ordinate the project design, surveying, estimating, and GIS team and to oversee the management administration of capital and revenue projects. You will develop a range of technical designs for Parks development/master plans and lead and co-ordinate on a number of Environment initiatives such as Take Pride in your City Campaign. You will lead on delivering the management of Service events and advise on Beautiful Scotland and Beach Award applications. You will develop and lead on Events and sports booking processes. You will develop and encourage links providing support to community groups and Environmental initiatives identified with Dundee City Councils corporate strategies and plans, such as City Plan.

The Individual

​You will have demonstrable knowledge of project management - preferably gained within the environmental sector along with extensive knowledge of the environment issues relating to street scene and parks and open spaces. You will be experienced in managing\ supervising staff/teams, have experience of representing Council\Department on internal\external groups and in the preparation of committee and other formal reports. You will be experienced in and providing effective presentations. You will have clear written and verbal skills, good leadership skills, excellent organisational and development skills and workload co-ordinating skills along with staff engagement, development and management skills. A full driving licence is required.
