Job Description

This post is for the team manager of our First Contact team, this team is the front-line interface with the public to ensure we keep people safe, triage effectively, direct calls as required and undertake duties under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act, 2007. You will be required to have a good understanding of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act, 2007 and the implementation of this along with other social work practice legislation. Working in a hybrid style, based both home and Claverhouse, you will work full time, 37 hours. Requirements

You will have Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work CQSW, CSS (with appropriate option).

Responsibilities

You will provide professional leadership, management and operational support as a first line manager to a team of support and social workers delivering a social work services, whilst ensuring high standards of practice parameters and service provision are maintained.

The Individual

You will have experience of working with adults age 16 and above. You will have excellent written and oral communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, as well as leadership, decision making, strategic planning and service development skills. You will also be able to manage change and budgets. You must have experience of assessment, review and care planning and experience of working with carers and families. You will be able to work out-with normal working hours when required and have the ability to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
