Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores and Distribution Manager to join Glasgow City Health Social Care Partnership’s Community Equipment Service, where you will report to the Stores Service Manager.

You will be responsible for the management of the stores and distribution function of one of the UK’s largest Assistive Technology operations, serving an area which covers over 28% of the Scottish population. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership operates the Community Equipment Service on behalf of the Equipu partners, which consists of six local authorities and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS.

The main duties and responsibilities will include the stock management, warehousing and recycling of community equipment, as well as dealing with the logistics of delivering the service using a web based IT system, which is accessed by over 2,000 health and social care professionals to order essential equipment for vulnerable service users. 

You will also be responsible for managing, motivating and training a wide range of staff groups and individuals.  You will be a motivated individual with excellent IT and leadership skills, and will have the ability to manage performance and productivity levels of the frontline and store-based staff, which are dictated by the needs of the service.  

As the Stores and Distribution Manager you will have knowledge in areas such as warehousing, logistics, distribution, health and safety, audit and stock control.  

The successful candidate will be required to liaise with multi agency partner groups as well as internal and external customers, therefore, excellent verbal and written communication skills are important.

It is essential that you have a knowledge and experiencing of managing in a stores and distribution operation and a full UK driving licence.  An understanding of the Assistive Technology sector from an operational delivery perspective is desirable.
