Summer Intern- Heritage - (Fixed-Term)

Job Description

Glasgow City Council is able to provide a summer Internship from Monday 05 June 2023 – Friday 25 August 2023, inclusive.

Applicants must be available for the full duration of the placement.

The intern will work 35 hours per week and rate of pay will be the Glasgow Living Wage.  

Interns will work for 12 weeks, during which time they will accrue 6 days leave, the payment of which is included in their Salary so must be taken during their 12 week placement.

Review of current retrofitting guidance for traditional (historic) buildings including the Guide to Energy Retrofit of Traditional Buildings Historic Environment Scotland, 2019 and other National and emerging guidance/research concerning energy efficiency and traditional properties. To inform the draft update of current Supplementary Guidance SG9 Historic Environment (pending new LDP and response to NPF4). In particular to consider current windows policy for listed buildings/conservation areas, researching and evidencing the national approach to this issue across Local Authorities in practice. Drafting updated conservation area guidance and specific topic guidance around energy efficiency measures for web publication. 

Other supporting projects may include assistance with conservation area appraisal surveys and refresh of this suite of documents according to programmed review.

•    Must live within the Glasgow City Council boundary
•    Have the right to live and work in the UK
•    Be in the year of study specified in the advert
