Do you care about your community and would relish the opportunity to contribute to making North Lanarkshire the place, to Live, Learn, Work, Invest and Visit?

Well, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Team. Working as part of a larger team to provide effective and efficient support service, this role is largely independent, meaning you have the chance to prioritise and organise your workload according to the service demands. You will be undertaking scheduling to ensure adequate staff cover across community facilities within North Lanarkshire Council. You will use various IT systems and will be provided with training and development allowing you to liaise directly with both Caretaking Staff and the Management team.

Our facilities are used by a variety of customers, including community, self-help and hobby groups and the dynamic nature of our service means our Facility Support staff are scheduled on a weekly basis. You must have the ability to work to deadlines, be self-motivated with good customer care, communication and organisational skills. In addition, you must be able to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative and be able to work well under pressure. We are looking for you to bring your can-do attitude!

While the scheduling of staff will be your key priority, on occasion, you will undertake administrative support tasks.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience of working in an office environment, experience of IT and Microsoft packages and dealing with computerised data. Experience of scheduling and using facility booking systems would be advantageous.

We are a Disability Confident Leader and offer a guaranteed interview to applicants who consider themselves to be disabled, as long as they meet the essential criteria of the person specification/job description.

We have also adopted the Armed Forces Community Covenant to show our support for service personnel, veterans and their families. We offer a guaranteed interview for service leavers, spouses, reservists and veterans, as long as they meet the essential criteria of the person specification/job description.

North Lanarkshire Council is committed to #KeepingThePromise. This means that if you have ever been in care (looked after at home with a social worker, lived with a relative other than your parents, experienced foster, residential or secure care) you are entitled to a guaranteed interview for this post, as long as you meet the essential criteria of the person specification/job description. This is one way North Lanarkshire is demonstrating our commitment to supporting Care-Experienced People.

The Plan for North Lanarkshire is to be the place to live, learn, work, invest and visit. The Council recognises that work is an important part of adult life and is critical to our wellbeing and shaping how we live. The Fair Work Convention’s Framework defines Fair Work as work that offers effective voice, fulfilment, opportunity, respect and security. We believe Fair Work can boost creativity, realise untapped potential and increase productivity. To find out more click on the link.
