West Lothian Council Adult Learning Team is recruiting an Adult Learning Worker to plan, co-ordinate and evaluate ESOL programmes, with a focus on working with displaced people from Ukraine.

The role includes:

  • Co-ordination of ESOL provision, identifying the priority areas to be tackled and establishing classes.
  • Assessment of new learners to determine their level of English.
  • Working with learners and local partners to develop pathways to further learning and/or employment opportunities.
  • Delivering and evaluating teaching and learning for adults within a social practices model.
  • Completing administration and contributing to quality assurance processes.
  • Gathering evidence as required for reporting progress and outcomes.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
