An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Improvement Team in a permanent position as an Education Support Officer (Data Performance Primary/ELC). This post holder will support West Lothian Education Services to use data effectively to improve outcomes for children in primary schools and ELC settings. The post will be a vital support to the Quality Improvement Team in achieving the two outcomes of the West Lothian Raising Educational Attainment Strategy.
West Lothian Raising Educational Attainment Strategy Outcomes
1.Learning and Curriculum Ensuring every child and young person experiences varied, vibrant and challenging learning experiences which are built on the provision of high quality and inclusive learning, teaching and assessment. Fundamental to this is the design and implementation of a curriculum that creates the conditions, culture and ethos for all 4 capacities to thrive and be equally valued.
2.Wellbeing, Inclusion and Attendance Improving wellbeing, inclusion and attendance for all children and young people, promoting confidence, independent thinking and resilience. Fundamental to this is working with families and partners to support the highest possible levels of engagement and equity for all.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
