Reporting to the IT Technology and Solutions Manager, this is a senior post within the IT Services structure and is critical in the delivery of effective and efficient IT Services. As Network Technical Team Lead your challenge will be to provide leadership and management to a team of 3 permanent Advanced Network Specialist staff responsible for delivering and supporting the council’s networking, IPT and network security infrastructure.

The post will work closely with the Education Technical Team Lead, Client Server and Software Technical Team Lead, and the IT Management team to provide an excellent IT service provision to all of our customers.

This permanent role provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the new IT structure within West Lothian Council IT Services.


IT Services structure is based on ITlL and you must have a solid understanding, knowledge and experience of good practice. Applicants will have extensive experience in IT with proven management experience leading a team of subject matter experts in the provision of effective and efficient 3rd line technical support. Applicants will also have proven experience dealing with IT technical delivery of projects using PRINCE2 methodology, Freedom of Information requests, Data Protection Legislation, IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
