An opportunity has arisen within West Lothian Council Housing, Customer & Building Services for  a dynamic, self-motivated, organised and enthusiastic Safer Neighbourhood Team officer to join our team. 

The SNT work closely with the Police Scotland, Housing Management and other Community Planning partners to promote Community Safety and reduce the fear of violence in communities across West Lothian. 

You will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of all Safer Neighbourhood Team policies/procedures.

You should have relevant experience and working knowledge of compliance with current Anti Social Behaviour etc (Scotland) Act 2004, Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000 and The Environmental Protection Act 1990. 

You should be able to communicate and co-ordinate service delivery to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with council policy and service standards to meet the needs of customers in our communities.

You should hold an Institute of Accoustic Certificate of Proficiency in Anti Social Noise Measurement or be prepared to work toward this qualification. Desirable to have Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 or equivalent and have recent relevant frontline experience of working in the field of Anti Social Behaviour/Community Safety.

The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council’s Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.

The successful candidate will require to work 144 hours over a 3 week shift cycle, which includes night shift working (Friday & Saturday).
