This post is based within the Advice Shop as part of a project funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The post holder will contribute to the People and Skills priority of the Shared Prosperity Fund by leading on the development and promotion of volunteering opportunities to promote wellbeing and support individuals to move toward employment.

The post holder will work with local partners, service users and colleagues within the council to assess skills gaps that could be addressed through volunteering. They will be responsible for the development and implementation of a communication and marketing plan to promote volunteering

They will be responsible for the recruitment and ongoing support and supervision of volunteers, including delivering and evaluating training and supporting potential volunteers to identify long-term goals and motivations in order to find the right opportunities to meet their needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on progress of this workstream on a regular basis as part of the Shared Prosperity Fund reporting arrangements.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council
