Job Description

1 x 36 hours, 52.14 weeks per year, fixed term until 31 October 2024.

Recycling & Waste Services wish to recruit an individual to work as part of the Waste Disposal team to safely operate Whitehill Waste Transfer Station. 

Transfer Station Operations 

4 on 5 off shift pattern, 12.5% shift allowance

Working 14 days in every 28, including 2 weekends

Monday – Friday 7am -7pm

Saturday & Sunday 7am – 4pm

The operation of the Transfer Station requires individuals to have a variety of skills to function effectively.  These roles include:

• the operation of plant, such as a telescopic handler, forklift or scissor lift, compaction equipment and a weighbridge
• operating a Recycling Centre for the segregation and separation of commercial waste from other Council services
• acting as a reversing assistant in a safety critical environment
• general duties to keep the site clean and tidy such as litter picking, cleaning, loading and unloading
