As a student-centred organisation and one which offers over 700 courses across 32 subject areas, Edinburgh College also works with over 1,800 industry partners to help secure the best possible employment opportunities for our students.

We are also the biggest single provider of students to Edinburgh Universities, with 98% of our successful full-time students moving onto employment or further education within 6 months of graduating.

What we can offer you

We have great benefits at Edinburgh College, with generous annual leave, a career average pension scheme and access to other benefits such as the 'Cycle to Work' scheme. We also have great on-site facilities including a gym, pool, training restaurants, shops and canteens. Plus you get to be part of a unique organisation which contributes to improving the lives of others.

Edinburgh College are seeking a Business Development Assistant to join the Creative Industries team. You will have experience of developing commercial income, meeting income targets, and working in a fast- paced environment. You must have the ability to multitask and work on your own initiative. To succeed, you will need a positive attitude and have a genuine passion for Creative Industries.

You will be required to liaise with the Commercial and Business Development Managers at Edinburgh College by providing information and analysis, on an ad hoc basis, of commercial activity undertaken by the teams and working on new initiatives.

Diary support would also be needed for the Center Administrator to support ongoing events in the Creative Industries faculty. You will attend meetings with the wider faculty staff and take minutes where necessary.

You will also be involved in networking at social events and seek to develop the Creative Industries profile. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, conduct periodic market research, create market strategies for the business, be able to create content for marketing and do social media posting.

Please note, due to the nature of this post there will be times when you will need to work out of office hours, to support weekend and evening hiring of facilities and events.

What you can offer us

Educated to HND level you also will have relevant knowledge and experience of working within the creative industries sector. You will have exceptional organisational skills and be task driven to meet deadlines. Commercial experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Please see the job description and person specification for a full breakdown of the essential and desirable criteria.
