INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

Instructor and Workplace Assessor in Carpentry and Joinery (Ref A944)
Full Time/Fixed-Term (1 year)/Fraserburgh Campus
Salary:  £28,392.79 - £32,476.26 per annum (Pay award pending, currently additional £3.5K per annum)

We are looking to recruit a skilled Carpentry and Joinery practitioner to join our expanding Construction team.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Carpenter and Joiner with an SVQ level 3 qualification or SCQF Level 7 equivalent and preferably an Advanced Craft or equivalent qualification in the subject area. They will have excellent communication and presentation skills and be committed to engaging with learners that results in motivating them to succeed.

If you are enthusiastic about Construction and training people to work in construction professions, are a highly effective team player who actively assists colleagues and have the ability to pass on knowledge and skills to students, we want you to come and join our team.

This post will involve the assessment of construction apprentices in the workplace so a full driving licence will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. SVQ level 3 (SCQF level 7 or equivalent) Qualification in Carpentry and Joinery
  2. Advanced Craft qualification in Carpentry and Joinery*
  3. Educated to HNC/D level or equivalent in the relevant subject area*
  4. Assessor training qualifications*
  5. Evidence of continuous professional development

 

EXPERIENCE

  1. Up to date vocational experience in the relevant area.
  2. Experience as a trainer or experience of training staff in the relevant area

 

KNOWLEDGE

  1. Up to date industry knowledge in the relevant area
  2. Knowledge of the type of programmes available in further education
  3. Knowledge of a range of assessment methods.

 

SKILLS

  1. Oral and written communication skills
  2. Numeracy skills
  3. Able to work on own initiative and without supervision
  4. The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
