Job Summary

Robert Gordon University offers staff and students alike a distinctive, professionally-focused academic environment in which demand-led teaching and research helps individuals develop and prosper. With significant, often unique, strengths across a wide range of educational areas, an impressive array of national and international awards and one of the most beautiful campuses - and regions - in which to live and work in the UK, we exist to increase knowledge and transform lives.

Our portfolio of courses provide vocationally-relevant theory and develop applied accounting and finance skills. We are internationally recognised for excellence in professional education at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and consistently maintain one of the UK's best graduate employment records.

You might currently be in an academic or professional role, but either way you will need teaching/training experience, in addition to relevant accounting and finance knowledge. You will be educated to Degree Level with membership of a professional accounting body. A PhD in an accounting related area would be advantageous.

Research within this area of Aberdeen Business School includes: accounting education; gender and emancipatory issues related to accounting practice and the profession; accountability and transparency in for-profit and not-for-profit sectors; accounting history; and market-based accounting research. Staff have received funding from various sources, including: ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, IFAC, FRC. Research is disseminated at academic and business events and published in high profile journals and professional monographs. Several research areas are highly regarded for evidenced impact on: international standard setting agendas, international professional accounting education, and informing contemporary debates about audit skills and transparency reporting.
