In this role, you will work on a research project titled: ‘CEO Activism and International Expansion’. Tasks will be oriented towards the development of a database containing the information of companies listed on the Standard & Poor (S&P)1500 Stock Index during the 2007-2022 period.
You will have a degree (or equivalent experience) in a related subject, such as Business and Management, International Management or Business Ethics, as well as strong research skills and experience in building databases.
This role is fixed term until 31st July 2024, and you will work a total of 330 (TRAC) hours over the period of the contract.

Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Professor/Lecturer
RESPONSIBLE FOR: No supervisory responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POST: Assisting Dr Nicola Croxton, Dr Raquel García- García, Dr Laura Fernández-Méndez; and Dr Carlos Martíez de Ibarreta Zorita and on a research project titled: ‘CEO Activism and International Expansion’. These tasks will be oriented towards the development of a database containing the information of companies listed on the Standard & Poor (S&P)1500 Stock Index during the 2007-2022 period.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Develop database of codified documents
2. Codification of data that has already been collected into an Excel file.
3.Assistance with data collection and codification about companies listed on the SP1500 Stock Index during the 2007-2022 period.
4. Collect and codify information from several databases and social media platforms, including Refinitiv Eikon; Bloomberg, V-Dem Institute, ProCon.org and the World Bank
5.Source additional supporting data from international News stream

Qualifications and Professional Memberships
A degree or equivalent experience in a related subject such as Business and Management, International Management, Business Ethics.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of business terminology
Demonstrate critical thinking skills, attention to detail and ability to be proactive and work as part of a team.
Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes
Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex information from multiple sources.
