ABOUT THE JOB

The successful applicant will lead a team of professionals focused on the implementation of a large Transformation Programme (and subsequent projects) which align to the Police Scotland 2026 Strategy.

They will be responsible for the successful design and implementation of large/complex/cross functional programmes/project through their team ensuring that intended outcomes are achieved and that the required benefits are met.

They will establish, manage and develop relationships with senior stakeholders, both internal and external. Support the development of future sustainable capability, striving for a world class change environment.

They will build a team of highly engaged staff who have the appropriate technical, leadership/management skills and experience and support and encourage an environment of Continuous Improvement.

ABOUT YOU

You will have attained formal Project Management/PMO Qualifications (E.g.: PRINCE 2)

You will be educated to HND level or equivalent with over 5yrs experience as a Programme Manager delivering large, complex, cross functional programmes. OR in the absence of formal qualifications, relevant working experience is required in order to support familiarisation and on the job training for the role.

You will have in-depth experience and demonstrable application of project and programme delivery methodologies and demonstrable experience of managing 'Virtual' teams cross function/cross business and geographies.

You will be experienced in strategic planning with strong knowledge of the IT/HR delivery lifecycles, associated methodologies and their practical application

You will be capable people-manager preferably garnered in both a line and matrix with demonstrable and proven experience of leading a team of professional project managers.

This full time post is temporary for 18 months and will require Standard Recruitment Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0900 – 1700.
