The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for two posts of Corporate Business Support Assistants based at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Cambuslang.   Both are temporary posts, one with a duration to 31 March 2024 and one with a duration to 30 April 2025.   They both include home working and office-based work.  

 

These are full time posts however, applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share, or flexible working basis would be considered.

 

The successful candidate will be required to work with the Corporate Business Support team to provide a flexible business support to Board, Strategic Leadership Team, Senior Management Team and Headquarters based functions as appropriate and in line with organisational objectives.  

                                         

Previous experience of working within a busy general office environment, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, in particular Word and Excel are essential.   Applicants must be able to work on their own initiative, prioritise their own workloads and be able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-changing environment whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail.   You will need to be self-motivated and have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills coupled with a flexible approach.   Call handling experience is desirable.   A strong awareness of confidentiality is also essential.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

 

This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate's will be subject to a Standard Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
