Salary: £31,934 - £38,478 dependent upon qualifications and experience (SCP 36 -43)
Job Purpose:
We are seeking to recruit an experienced individual to manage our qualifications and trainee programmes within a LAAC setting.
As the post holder you will establish the organisational structure and processes for delivering the relevant qualifications (HNC/SVQ Children & Young People) in-house and ensure that the organisation remain compliant with registration requirements.
Furthermore, you will drive forward our trainee programme by supporting the recruitment, coordination and placement work to ensure we are able to nurture and develop staff internally.
Main Duties:
Deliver full HNC and SVQ in Children & Young People at levels 3 and 4
Support, advise and motivate learners
Coordinate timescales for qualification completion in line with registration requirements
Visit/observe learners in their place of work to gather evidence towards their qualification
Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress
Provide support to overcome any barriers to learning
Coordinate and plan the internal trainee programme in conjunction with internal stakeholders
Provide support, mentoring and feedback to the trainees
To undertake any other duties reasonable duties as requested by Management
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Have a flexible approach to delivering qualifications in line with the needs of the service
Must hold an SVQ 4 in Social Services/Children and Young People or equivalent.
Relevant registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
Experience of working within a LAAC or similar setting
Confident to ensure staff can meet deadlines and complete their tasks
Experience establishing processes for in-house qualifications delivery, in a relevant setting is preferable
Ideally the candidate will hold recognised assessor and verifier qualifications such as D32/33 or TQFE.
Ideally have previous experience of delivering on-the-job training to staff within a care environment
Full driving license
Good communication skills, both oral and written
