About the Role

Working within the Business Excellence Team, the role of Business Excellence Manager (National Training Programmes) will support the Head of National Training Programmes Development in driving continuous improvement using lean tools and techniques.

The overarching purpose of the role is to encourage and support the NTP team to improve their systems, processes and services in response to changes in the business context, external review/audit findings, customer, partner and staff feedback and business results.

The Business Excellence Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of self assessment against a best practice quality assurance framework across NTP teams. This will ensure appropriate resources are available to support this and will deliver a training programme to drive a culture of continuous improvement to meet the needs of this team and their customers.

This role requires someone who is tenacious and driven, conversant with lean tools and techniques who can demonstrate they have the ability to drive improvement. The ideal candidate will engage effectively with a range of key partners and stakeholders. These attributes and skills will underpin the successful development and delivery of our delivering excellence strategy.

This is a full time permanent position based in the Central Belt (location flexible dependant upon successful candidate).

About You

The successful candidate will be degree qualified (SCQF 9) or equivalent in quality management, be Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and possess the following skills:

Experience of leading quality improvement programmes and implementing lean tools and techniques to drive improvement. An in depth knowledge and understanding of European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), Public Sector Improvement Framework (PSIF), ISO9001 or any other quality management systems or frameworks.

You must possess exceptional negotiation skills dovetailed with an ability to influence at all levels and build constructive relationships with key stakeholders resulting in win: win outcomes. Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver key messages with impact and credibility are essential to the role.
