Job Summary
RGU and the Net Zero Technology Centre (formerly known as OTGC) have partnered to create the National Subsea Centre (NSC), a multi-million-pound Centre of Excellence for subsea research and technology development.
The NSC harnesses the University’s academic expertise, research capability and facilities in a world- class research and development centre focused on tackling the challenges faced by all marine industries in the transition to net zero.
We are seeking an experienced, team focused individual to provide efficient and effective administration within a small, dedicated administration team supporting a busy research centre. You will handle the day-to-day research administration, and support research activities and events within the National Subsea Centre.

You will be based at Robert Gordon University’s National Subsea Centre in Dyce. Travel may be required from time to time between RGU sites.

Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Centre Manager (National Subsea Centre)
RESPONSIBLE FOR: None
PURPOSE OF POST: To provide efficient and effective administration, including the handling of the day to day research administration, and supporting research activities and events within the National Subsea Centre.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Provide general administrative support, such as coordinating travel, hospitality, booking meeting rooms, and supporting research administration.
Undertakes a range of financial administration duties, such as processing expenses, ordering stationery and small items of equipment/supplies required for research projects).
Assist the Centre Manager and Research Degree Coordinator with the administration of several PhD studentship programmes
Assist the Centre Manager to support academics with the administration of funding applications and funding projects when required.
Liaise with Research and Commercial support teams to support researchers with the administration development of funding applications.
Assist the Centre Manager with events planning, organisation, facilitation for both internal and external events.
Be the departmental Superuser for the online recruitment system Talentlink.
General administrative assistance as and when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
Educated to a higher level or equivalent with previous administrative experience
Knowledge and skills
An excellent working knowledge of the main Microsoft Office packages
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to use own initiative and work independently
Experience
Experience of delivering an administrative service within a busy team environment
Experience of implementing and reviewing administrative processes
Experience of multi-tasking and prioritising workload
